Tim Madden, Chairman

Tim Madden, a member of the inaugural lottery commission, was elected chairman in June, 2006. He is a partner in the law firm Nelson Mullins Riley and Scarborough, LLP, in the Greenville office. He spent nearly 18 years with the Greenville firm of Wilkins & Madden, P.A., for which he served as managing partner, until all of that firm's lawyers joined Nelson Mullins in February, 2006. He holds the highest rating afforded to lawyers for legal ability and ethics by the publication Martindale-Hubbell, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, (2000- ; Woodward/White). He is the recipient of the Compleat Lawyer Award from the University Of South Carolina School Of Law for distinguished service to the legal profession and his community. In addition to his service on the lottery commission since 2001, Mr. Madden maintains a history of public service at the local and state level. From 1993 to 1997, including two years as Chairman, he served on the Greenville County Transportation Committee. From July 1997 until June 2001, he served as a member of the board of the South Carolina Transportation Infrastructure Bank, including two years as Vice Chairman. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Student Loan Corporation. Mr. Madden is a Liberty Fellow (2007), a program for South Carolina's leaders. He received a Bachelor's degree in Finance from Wofford College in 1985 and a law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1988. Mr. Madden lives in Greenville with his wife, Cami, and two children.
